4 Ways to Avoid Carton Box Cracking

Corrugated carton boxes are so popular in almost every industry that we feel obliged to explore more about it. Corrugated boxes appear as brown carton boxes, clothes packaging boxes, fruits storage boxes, and mailer boxes in warehouse, logistics, markets, stores and on-line shipping service. It is not rare to see cracking of the corrugated board. To avoid the cracking problem, the importance of controlling the water content of the paper board and the fiber structure should be highly considered.

Today we would like to talk about the precautions that the suppliers can take to avoid or release the cracking from following aspects.

Firstly, during the production process of corrugated paper board, its moisture should be properly supplemented by taking following methods. 

A.The steam spraying could be very helpful for paper moisture. The spraying system could be installed to supplement the moisture for surface paper, base paper and corrugated paper as well.

B.The wrapping angle of the preheating cylinder should be sharpened to avoid water evaporation. 

C.Control the ventilation system for paper processing.

D.More application of paste should be considered.

Secondly, water printing is recommended for post manufacturing process. Water printing is helpful to increase moisture on the cracking part. It is important too to control the water yield,  for otherwise it is likely for the paper board to become deformed or get rotten. And after moisture supplemented, the paper board shall be put into the process after water gets absorbed.

Thirdly, the weight portion of the surface paper, base paper and corrugated paper shall be adjusted. The paper weight could be comparatively lower in the dry environment. If the paper weight of corrugated paper is heavier than that of surface paper or base paper, the cracking may happen quite easier. 

And there are certain rules that the operators shall stick to. For example to check the flatness of the die-cut pad and plate, to reshape the fiber structure around the cracking to improve its tolerance, and to check the pressing equipment to fix any damage.
