Printing acts a so important role in paper packaging field. The ink roller, which delivers colors to the printing objects should be carefully operated and maintained for good ink absorption, transfer performance and resistance to organic solvent and so on. Generally speaking, the daily maintenance decides the lifespan of the ink roller.
Since the ink roller is made of rubber, it is inclined to get deformed, dry, and cracked which could surely influence the normal transfer of the ink. Therefore to make sure of the good maintenance of the ink roller is quite important.
Firstly, we need to avoid the ink roller from getting deformed. Deformation would not occur if the roller is under even pressure. However, after some while of off work, the roller could get sunken because it is restricted under one place. Therefore, the roller should be disassembled to the roller rack after work.
Secondly, we need to keep it away from scratches by debris or ink shovel. Put the tools in order and use the steel gauge properly to protect the ink roller.
Thirdly, we need to remove the oxidized conjunctiva caused by long time operation of the ink roller. Fast drying resin ink is often applied during offset printing, in which drying oil and diffusion agent are also added. Together with these agents comes oxidized conjunctiva which could affect the ink feeding and transferring effect. Therefore, the conjunctiva should be frequently spotted and removed. Meanwhile, the diameter of the ink roller should be carefully observed to make sure of ink transferring performance.
Fourthly, we need to see to it that the the roller is away from direct sunrays, moisture and dirty places. Moreover, daily routine of washing and cleaning the roller after work or shift is required.
To protect the ink roller is to make sure of printing effect. Workers should be frequently trained of the importance of standard operation and maintenance of ink rollers to devote to quality printing products.
