Tips on Pre-printing Equipment Management and Maintenance

Printing is so major to the paper packaging boxes so that the printing equipment should be carefully managed and maintained. And to make sure the pre-printing equipments is the key point for printing. Since most of the pre-printing equipments are assembled by advanced electrical components and circuits, they should be kept away from high temperature or low moisture, which could block heat dissipation or prolong the preheating time.

Therefore, to provide a suitable working environment for the preprinting equipments is quite important. Printing factories adjust the working environment temperature and humidity by using the air conditioner and temperature and humidity meter.

Even tiny dust can stop the printing equipment by misleading the precise output equipment and get the film or plate wasted. To avoid this issue, the installation environment of the preprinting equipments should be carefully discussed. It should be clean and tidy. And cloth cover should be placed to the preprinting equipments in case it is not working for the shift.

Now that most of the pre-printing equipments are highly precise ones, there are strict requirements for electrical supply. 220V or 380V is considered suitable working voltage and electric current should be as stable as possible, requiring separated electric supply from other equipments.

Ambient environment like vibration and radiation could all influence the normal operation of the equipments, especially for roller scanner, and laser phototypesetter. Therefore additional consideration for these equipments before installation to make sure of horizontal, quite and high magnetic radiation free place should be made. 

Except for above measures, the frequent training on maintenance and operation force should be carried out. The maintenance force are supposed to follow the installation engineers upon their arrival to learn from the first beginning and should be trained by the engineers sent by the supplier. While the operation force should attend the training before being sent to their working site. And frequent training and warning should be made to improve their working ability and alertness of equipment defaults.
